ABOUT THE COMPANY
In 2016, the Philippines was in the middle of a construction boom such that it exponentially increased the need for material supply. While the JCR Group of Companies was already in the business of operating crushing plants, through an affiliate company, Solid Integrated Company, Inc., the production capacity was not enough.
With the technical competence and environmental management skills the Group gained in managing Solid Integrated Company, Inc., the JCR Group of Companies chose to seize the opportunity to purchase a bigger quarry site in San Rafael, Rodriguez, Rizal.
Big Rock Aggregates Corporation (BRAC) was formed in February 8, 2017 to engage in the exploration, development and utilization of mineral resources in the new site which came with a Mineral Production Sharing Agreement for a vast land area with larger quarry reserves. The considerable land area also enabled the company to put up a crushing plant with a production capacity of 80,000 cu.m. per month to capitalize on the need of the construction industry for more materials.
BRAC was able to expand its product offering with the supply of white sand in the year 2022. The prior year saw a severe shortage in the supply of white sand, a key component of concrete and various construction works. BRAC had to quickly formulate a strategy to ensure that the JCR Group’s projects would not be hampered by this crisis as well as take advantage of the opportunity to provide a need that is in short supply.
Thus, BRAC invested in its own vibratory screening plant in Capas, Tarlac that can serve both the needs of the JCR Group as well as engage in commercial sales. The Capas Plant is now operational and can offer clients their required Fineness Modulus (FM) to ensure strong and durable concrete.
Big Rock Capas Vibro White Sand Plant is committed to providing high quality white sand that conform to industry standard, as sand quality is integral to the compressive strength of concrete. This type of sand remains as the ideal component over manufactured sand, which typically needs to pass through additional manual screening.
The Vibro Plant can produce Fifty Thousand (50,000) cubic meters of white sand per month and can be reconfigured to reach Eighty thousand (80,000) cubic meters per month, should there be increased market demand.
